KIDS & FAMILY
at King of kings we seek to include children of all ages in worship, service, and fellowship to provide the building blocks for a life-long relationship with god.
Each month King of Kings offers a “Family Fun Night” activity meant to promote fellowship and good, old-fashioned fun. Through a variety of activities including game nights, volunteering, crafts, and outdoor adventures we hope to engage children and their families in the life of the church. Here at King of Kings, we welcome children and believe they have an important place in worship. Jesus longs to encounter people of all ages! Children can and do encounter Jesus in worship, just as adults do. They hear God’s word in the reading of scripture and in a children’s message designed for young ears and eager minds. They share in God’s grace and forgiveness as we share in Holy Communion or a Special Blessing. They lift their joyful voices in songs of praise. They pray as part of the community of the faithful. In all of these things, children participate alongside adults in our faith family.
To further their Christian education, preschoolers through 6th grade are encouraged to attend our 9am Sunday school class. This informal setting allows children to develop their relationship with Jesus through music, scripture, games, and fellowship.
For those under the age of five we do offer a professionally-staffed childcare center available during the 9am Sunday school hour and the 10am worship service.
Christian marriage is a covenant of love and faithfulness made between a couple and God. Weddings at King of Kings are officiated by Pastor Lynn. Couples are required to go through premarital counseling with the pastor marrying them. As part of the premarital counseling, the pastor will plan the wedding service with the couple and refer them to our Music Minister to discuss music. We will rent out our sanctuary for outside weddings on a case by case basis.
Baptism is a tangible way to experience God's love, forgiveness and grace. We believe that in baptism God makes three promises: you are named and claimed as God's child; your sins are, and will always be, forgiven; and God welcomes you into the joy of eternal life.
Children and adults of any age can be baptized. Through baptism you become members of the congregation. If you are interested in baptism for yourself or your child, please contact Pastor Lynn.
The Moms Group
The Moms Group is an outreach ministry open to ALL moms that have little ones through elementary age kids - not just preschoolers! Members of our congregation, parents from the Preschool, friends, and the community are welcome to join! The group meets twice a month and provides childcare as needed. If you have any questions or need more information contact Miss Judi.
